In the building’s plan, a polygonal cutout can be read within a rigorous grid of CLT walls. The walls are 2 metres long, with equal centre-to-centre spacing and gaps. The dashed lines that mark the walls in their longitudinal direction are filled in with timber beams, thus creating a series of continuous load-bearing lines for the roof. Perpendicular to these bearing lines, the CLT panels are placed, covering the entire building in a single sweep. The scheme is regularly and casually adapted. Lift cores and shafts take on their role as bracing elements, the walls in the façade that are too exposed to weather conditions are executed in concrete, one wall is omitted for spatial functionality, and where the rear façade calls for slender columns, steel is used.
