Renato Nicolodi works with monoliths: large, monumental, and heavy sculptures. The temporary versions, however, are not monolithic; they are composed of a timber frame structure finished with sheet materials, reflecting their limited lifespan of only a few months. In this type of construction, particular attention is always given to providing sufficient weight in the plinth in order to withstand spring storms. In this case, the construction consists of a timber frame as the load-bearing structure, combined with cement boards as the finishing material. Courtesy of Van De Weghe Gallery / Ron Mandos Gallery.
