The construction of the flat roofs is particularly interesting from a structural perspective. Above the new dining hall and movement classroom, a ceiling was created using standard hollow-core slabs, alternated with an exposed timber grid spanning between two slabs. Above the new outdoor circulation corridor, an exposed timber grid was also provided, supported on prefabricated concrete beams and cantilevering to form canopies at the school entrance.
